The floating heads of the condensers at levels 1, 2, and 3 that we installed are designed to have linings added, but for various reasons, no linings were installed. I won’t go into details about that here. I would like to ask: do the condenser floating heads in everyone’s installations have linings? And are there any special requirements for this? Also, which company is more professional at doing linings? Thank you
At temperatures above 300 degrees, a high-temperature sulfur reaction occurs between hydrogen sulfide and carbon steel; for this reason, lining should still be installed. However, if you have sufficient corrosion margin, there won’t be any problem for now.
Usually, the inlet end is lined when it’s cold, while no lining is necessary for the other parts.
I have seen the lining of the tank, and during inspection I found localized collapse in some areas. I wonder if you added only one layer at the bottom, or did you add a layer all around the inner shell? How can collapse be prevented?
The sulfur condenser does not require lining. The actual use on site also confirms this
