The DCS control computer keeps generating alerts for no apparent reason, but the content of those alerts is not visible in the alert window; the alarm sounds keep coming. Currently, the only option is to turn off the alarm sound feature, otherwise it’s unbearable for everyone. Is there anyone skilled enough who can help diagnose this issue? It’s a small company, and we don’t have any instrumentation technicians...

It’s possible that certain parameters have reached the threshold that triggers an alarm; in such cases, simply rule that out. If the alarm is triggered without a reason, it’s recommended that you contact the DCS supplier and ask them to resolve the issue. An unexplained alarm indicates a problem with the DCS system itself. What kind of company is it that doesn’t even hire instrument technicians? It’s unimaginable!
