Can the 4703 docking flange be directly connected to the head? According to the standard requirements, the cylinder that is to be connected to it must be 70 mm long, with a required connection thickness of 10 mm; however, my end cap is only 8 mm thick
From the perspective of the stress on the flange, it is best to have a straight section of tube to allow the flange stress to be reduced, but direct welding has also been seen in practice.
As long as the calculation works, it’s fine.

Can it be strengthened with a reinforcement ring?
Generally, it is possible; for example, in pressure vessels and reaction kettles, the equipment flanges are welded directly to the upper head. For heat exchangers and similar devices, it is better to use a short coupling. Of course, it needs to pass the design review first.
It should be possible to achieve connection; we sometimes design it in this way as well. However, the required connection thickness for the 4703 flange must be ensured
The standard requirements vary among different systems. It must be designed and manufactured according to the standards in use; it cannot rely on intuition.
