As the title suggests, it’s obviously possible to create openings in pipes using the “Branch on Pipe Run” function in Sketch. However, when I use “Connect to Design” in Place, select a point on the pipe segment, switch to Sketch, use “Move Up” to draw a branch, and then proceed with automatic piping, the outlet fitting does not appear. Is there some attribute issue here? Will an OLET appear if I use attribute breakpoints followed by automatic piping?
Olet didn’t appear; so what did appear? Is there still an error? The branch pipe is not necessarily an OLET; it could also be a reinforced pad, half coupling, etc. It is specified in the branch pipe table within your pipeline grade table.
The method suggested by the original poster clearly doesn’t work, because the branch pipes created by using Sketch to move them upward are not connected to the main pipe; in other words, they are two separate pipe elements that have been placed overlapping each other. As a result, no branch pipe connections or tees appear during the piping process. If the original poster wants to use \"place\", then the sequence should be connect to design ————— point on segment ———— 90 degree
Agree with what was said on floor 2. I took a look this morning; if we use \"place\", we should use \"attribute break\" to separate the branch points and then use \"sketch\" to create the branches, but that’s too complicated. It’s not as straightforward as using \"branch on pipe run\" in Sketch, haha!
