The gas coming out of the pre-tower passes through a gas-liquid separator. At the outlet of this separator, there are two pipelines: one leads to the pre-tower reflux tank and the other leads to the fusel oil tank. I would like to ask why this is the case Is it because, after a period of accumulation, impurities need to be removed? Running the process through the return channel for some time results in unnecessary losses; please help
Does the gas-liquid separator have pipes for water washing? If you have high requirements for the product, this design is quite good. Determine whether to recover this portion of methanol based on the analysis results. We just can’t recycle it, so we sell it as a fusel oil.
The pipeline for removing fusel oils should be located above the liquid level, and it should be equipped with a sight glass that allows one to see the layering of the liquid inside the separator; by checking the layering, waste can be avoided.
Our plant doesn’t have water pipes; it’s not located above the liquid level as mentioned upstairs, and there are no sight glasses either. Their outlets are all located at the lower part of the gas-liquid separator
