Reasons for high acetylene content before the compressor and its hazards!
Reason 1: The air-fuel mixture ratio is inappropriate, resulting in an excess of acetylene. Reason 2: The catalyst activity of the converter has decreased, preventing the conversion reaction from proceeding to completion. Hazard 1: Acetylene gas has a very low explosion threshold, and an explosion may occur in the event of a leak. Harm 2: It wastes raw materials, increasing costs.
It must be that the converter’s reaction is not good, resulting in a low conversion rate; If the ratio is not appropriate, it can cause catalyst poisoning ; Generally, keeping it within 5% should be fine ; An increase in acetylene content, in cases of poor dehydration, leads to self-polymerization within the system pipelines, posing safety risks and also increasing the load on the subsequent systems.
Reason: 1. Improper ratio of raw gas materials, resulting in an excessive amount of acetylene; 2. The converter catalyst has failed, resulting in incomplete conversion ; 3. The flow rate of a single converter is too high, resulting in an excess of acetylene ; 4. Gas-phase short circuit in a single converter, resulting in an excess of acetylene. Harm 1: It results in substandard refined monomers, poor performance of the lower distillation column, and high exhaust volumes ; 2. Distillation requires large amounts of heat and cold, making it difficult to control ; 3. Prone to causing explosive hazards ; 4. Increase costs and waste raw materials ; 5. It results in poor heat exchange efficiency in the distillation heat exchange equipment ; 6. It has an impact on polymerization.
When carefully adjusting the ratios, we always ensure that acetylene is not used in excess, while also paying attention to keeping the temperature of each converter within limits! (Closing the gas inlet valve of a single converter) As a result, while maintaining the flux, the pressure in the mixer increases! It becomes very difficult to reduce the acetylene level in front of the generator~~
Is your production load too high? Also, don’t just focus on temperatures that are below the reaction threshold; some reactions may not occur if the temperature is too low, and this can also lead to excessive acetylene levels ahead of the machine. There is also the purity of the feed gas; impure feed gas can also cause this issue
But the purity of the feed gas we use each time is qualified! Our HCL condenser has failed; we simply stopped the flow of condensate and are using the pipe instead! It should be incomplete dehydration, as the experts have said~~
