A channel for cutting water is installed in the coke tank; personnel responsible for handling coke regularly clean up and reduce the inventory of petroleum coke in the tank. It is essential to prevent coke from accumulating at the grid, and this requires regular cleaning using grab tools to maintain smooth flow; At the same time, be careful to avoid a large amount of tar water carrying tar particles.
How can a quench water channel be installed inside the coke pool? Please advise. Thank you. If it’s crushed coke powder or coke sludge, using a grab to handle it only makes things worse, as it increases the risk of clogging the grates. I’ve tried this approach, and it takes a long time for the water to flow again. I think the fact that our chutes and coke separation fences are on the same side is also a factor that contributes to clogging; having them on the opposite side might be better, as it increases the distance the water has to flow, thus giving the coke powder more time to settle. Another reason is that our heating pool is relatively small.
There is definitely some blockage, but it depends on how quickly it occurs. The method mentioned earlier of using regular grab machines is one way to reduce the height of the coke accumulation. Also, the coke should be removed daily; don’t let too much coke accumulate in the coke pool, as it’s not a coke storage area after all. This ensures that the coke removed each time has sufficient time to settle. If it gets heavily clogged, then rinse it regularly with high-pressure water!
