Single-layer surfacing means applying only one layer of surfacing material; the required thickness of this layer is 4 mm + 0.5 mm, with an effective thickness of 1.5 mm. At the same time, NDE, preheating, post-heating DHT, PWHT, etc., are carried out according to the process or evaluation requirements.
Thank you for the answer from above. Could you be more specific? What does 4+0.5 mean? Does single-layer surfacing mean there is no transition layer, just the surface layer directly?
