What determines the methanol processing capacity for the three-column distillation of methanol, and what process effects can occur if the load is too high?
The load is high, so the temperature cannot be increased; the methanol content in the wastewater tends to exceed the allowed levels. Additionally, the yield of methanol is low and the quality is unstable
Since your tower internals determine your operating gas velocity. The operating gas velocity in production is influenced by the tower diameter and the gas load inside the tower. Going online results in flooding. In other words, as long as the methanol level in the wastewater is within acceptable limits and the quality of the product at the top of the tower is guaranteed, that constitutes your maximum capacity.
