Our factory plans to import some bituminous coal. Could those of you who are familiar with this subject provide some relevant specifications? Also, what are the indicators for gas-fertilizer coal? Does it belong to bituminous coal?
Bituminous coal has a wide range; for specific details, refer to China’s classification standards for coking coal. There are also relevant standards for gas-fertilized coal to refer to; it generally belongs to the category of high volatility and high Y value. However, it should be noted that for any material containing \"fertilizer\", the Y value must be above 25; currently, many types of bituminous coal are being sold as fertilized bituminous coal.
The volatilization of gas-fertilized coal is above 37, and that of the gum layer is above 25.
Bituminous coal is characterized by low ash and sulfur content, but it contains a high amount of inert components; too large a proportion of such coal in the blend can have a significant negative impact on the quality of the coke. When gas-fertilized coal is heated, it has a large amount of gelatinous matter and good cohesion, but it contains many volatile substances; an increased dosage leads to more pores in the coke, resulting in a decrease in its strength.
In China’s coal classification **standards**, it is the term used for bituminous coals with a lower degree of coalification. This standard specifies that coking coal consists of two components: the first type has a dry ash-free basis volatile matter content of Vdaf > 37%, a caking index of G > 35, and a maximum thickness of the gum layer of y ≤ 25 mm. These types of coal are characterized by particularly high volatiles and varying degrees of caking strength. The second category consists of coals with Vdaf>28~37% and G>50~65; they are characterized by high volatiles and moderate caking properties.
