What is the maximum operating temperature for SUS316? Some sources state that it is 450 degrees. Does this mean that if the operating temperature exceeds 450 degrees, SUS316 heat-resistant steel should be used? Can it be understood in this way? Thank you.

SUS316L is equivalent to the domestic grade 00Cr17Ni14Mo2 (new grade: 022Cr17Ni12Mo2). Table 4-1 on allowable stresses for steel plates in GB150 specifies a maximum temperature of 450°C for this grade (P17)； Clause 4.1.6 stipulates that when austenitic stainless steel is used at temperatures above 525°C, its carbon content must be at least 0.04%.
I believe stainless steel should not be used for extended periods at temperatures between 550-900 degrees, as this can cause brittle transformation of the σ phase.
