Can the return line at the outlet of a wet screw compressor be connected to the inlet of the compressor?
Is it from the original poster, Tenglong? The key is to check what the temperature of the working fluid at the return inlet is; if it has been cooled, there should be no problem.
If the poster is referring to the air supply line in the middle section of the unit, then it definitely won’t work. The location where the air supply line opens is determined through careful calculations; setting up a backflow at that position allows the compression pressure of the medium within the unit to be optimized, resulting in the highest efficiency for the unit. If the line is placed at the inlet end, the mismatch in pressure levels will severely affect the unit’s operation and may even cause mechanical failures (as the exhaust pressure will increase significantly)
