Are cyclone separators installed on top of all catalyst tanks?
Could you please clarify what device’s catalyst tank you mean?
There are usually! It’s on the fresh catalyst tank! !
Reply to 1# 366501212: To reduce or prevent catalyst loss during vacuuming of the catalyst tank, a cyclone separator is generally installed at the top of the catalyst tank; it works together with the vacuum pump to form a vacuuming system.
Fresh catalyst tanks, equilibrium catalyst tanks, and additive tanks are all equipped with cyclones or dust collectors. There is no waste catalyst tank. All tanks that require the addition of fresh catalyst must be equipped with cyclones, as vacuum needs to be created at the outlet of the cyclone separator during catalyst loading in order to prevent the catalyst from escaping
There are also those without cyclone separators; cyclone separators are installed in tanks where the catalyst inlet is too close to the top. The catalyst tank in our previous workplace did not have such a separator, and no catalyst leakage occurred during loading or unloading, but the catalyst level should not be filled too high.

Different devices require different arrangements; in our facility, for catalysis, the fresh catalyst tank, the spent catalyst tank, and the equilibrium catalyst tank all share two cyclone separators
Not necessarily; it depends on the design requirements. In one catalytic cracking unit we have in China with a capacity of 800,000 tons per year, no centrifuges were installed in the four tanks, while those abroad do have them, as environmental considerations were taken into account. Generally speaking, however, such small centrifuges are not capable of recovering all of the fine catalyst particles back into the tanks, especially in the case of tanks used for waste catalysts
It is not necessary to use a centrifuge; abroad, catalyst dust collectors are currently preferred. The efficiency of centrifuges generally reaches at most 99%, whereas catalyst dust collectors can remove dust particles larger than 1 μm.
