Is the Luchi furnace operated at full load level? Is the coal in the gasification furnace kept at a full level at all times?
Yes, this is different from atmospheric coal gasification, but I have also seen atmospheric gasifiers operated with a full carbon layer. Ruchi operates at full coal load, as under normal operation the coal lock is at the same pressure as the gasifier.
It is at full capacity; coal is added based on the temperature at the outlet of the gasifier and the temperature of the flange on the gasifier. Under normal conditions, when these two temperatures rise to certain levels, it indicates that the fire layer in the gasifier has moved upward, and coal needs to be added to the gasifier. The interlock mechanism for the coal lock operates such that when the temperature of the coal lock exceeds 50 degrees, it means the coal lock is empty, and the system then circulates coal to the gasifier
