The instrument valves on the process flow diagram are marked with “FP”; I’m not sure what this means. Someone on Baidu said it refers to the full scale, but I’m not clear about how that should be understood. Please let those who know do take a look
According to you: full scale. Based on my experience: the process PID diagram provides explanations for these terms; see the legend in the diagram for details. I don’t know whether this valve is used for regulation, metering, or shut-off. The commonly used one is FV – volume flow rate regulation ; FT: Temperature regulation ; FP: I guess it’s pressure regulation. For your reference, I hope you can provide a final reasonable explanation by taking the manufacturing process into account.
“An “instrument valve” is also a type of valve; by searching for “full port valve”, it’s easy to find the term “full-bore valve”.
full: means complete or full! Port: ① opening, hole, passage, entrance/exit; ② feeding port; ③ valve; ④ pole pair (in motors); ⑤ port, communication interface. It should refer to a full-bore valve
Reply to the two people on floors 3 and 4: The descriptions on the PID diagram generally refer to the role of that valve in the process flow. If interpreted literally, I agree with your view.
