To prevent chlorine leaks resulting from accidents, chlor-alkali plants generally install chlorine emergency treatment devices before the main chlorine pipeline enters the chlorine treatment process. These devices typically use packed towers and spray towers, with sodium hydroxide solution serving as the absorbent to capture chlorine. When the chlorine pressure in the system exceeds a certain level, chlorine enters the device through a liquid seal of designed height. This device serves to handle dilute chlorine gas both during startup and shutdown. In small and medium-sized chlor-alkali plants, a relatively intermittent measure is to design a water seal tank; when the chlorine pressure exceeds a certain value, it breaks through the water seal and enters the liquid seal tank containing sodium hydroxide solution, where it is absorbed. This device has a low processing capacity, and it is inadequate when large amounts of chlorine gas are released over an extended period of time. An absorption unit with cyclic spraying is used; when power supply is interrupted and the alkali pump cannot start, liquid alkali is directly sprayed into the tower from a high-level tank. This device is well-designed and can handle most emergency situations. To prevent the leakage of chlorine in chlor-alkali systems and avoid accidents, this device can also be used in other processes to handle chlorine leaks. # + + .
