Is the national professional English test required for the evaluation of the senior engineer title? How long is the validity period?
For senior engineers, if you apply at a county-level or lower unit, you take the Professional English Test Level B; if you apply at a level above the county level, you take the Professional English Test Level A. A score of 60 or above generally remains valid for an extended period, while a score meeting the provincial threshold is usually valid for 1 year, though the validity periods vary from place to place

It depends. I’ve encountered situations where it wasn’t available, but I still managed to get promoted to senior engineer. I’ll ask around for more details on how to do it
If you work in Sinopec’s system, you can take either the national exam or the professional English exam within the system; both are valid.
