1. Classification of supports and hangers: Based on their function, they are divided into three main categories: load-bearing supports, restraining supports, and vibration-damping supports. 1.1 Load-bearing frame: A support or bracket used to bear the weight of pipes and other vertical loads. 1.1.1 Sliding frame: A bracket supported below the support point, with no other resistance except for the vertical supporting force and the horizontal friction force. 1.1.2 Rod hangers: They support the weight of the pipes as well as other vertically downward loads by being suspended above the support points, with the rods in a connected state. 1.1.3 Spring supports: Used for supporting and hanging pipes and equipment that experience vertical displacement within a certain range, with a load variation rate of ≤25%. 1.1.4 Constant-force spring hangers: Used for supporting pipes that experience significant vertical displacement. Use a load deviation of ≤6%. 1.1.5 Rolling supports: Rolling bearings are used to reduce the thrust exerted on the supports due to axial displacement of the pipes. 1.1.6 With PTFE support: A PTFE sheet is adhered to the friction surface of the support to reduce the thrust exerted on the support due to the axial displacement of the pipeline.
1.2 Restrictive supports: Supports used to prevent, restrict, or control the thermal displacement of piping systems. 1.2.1 Guide frame: A support that allows the pipeline to move only in the axial direction. And it can also serve to limit lateral displacement. 1.2.2 Limiting frame: The function of the limiting frame is to restrict axial and lateral displacement. The value required to restrict the displacement of a pipe in a certain direction is called a fixed limit frame. 1.2.3 Fixing frame: It does not allow linear displacement or angular displacement in three directions at the support points. 1.3 Damping brackets: Brackets used to control or reduce pipeline vibrations caused by any forces other than gravity and thermal expansion, such as material impact, mechanical vibration, wind force, and other external loads.
