What is used for reinforcement when an instrument interface needs to be created on a pipeline? I would appreciate it if some experts could give me some guidance; I can’t tell the difference.
Branch pipe bases (clad, socketed), saddles, copy lugs, and other similar components are all used to reinforce the branch pipes. You can search for these uses on the forum; there are quite a few relevant posts. As for the instrument mounting holes mentioned by the original poster, it depends on the pressure of the main pipe and the size of the branch pipes
The common diameter ranges from DN25 to DN40. Can socket-welded branch pipe supports and welded branch pipe supports be used for pressures below 40 kilograms?

They are increasingly used in high-pressure, high-temperature, large-diameter, thick-walled pipelines, thus replacing conventional branch pipe connection methods. The branch pipe support body is made from high-quality forgings, using the same material as the pipes, such as carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel. Both the branch pipes and the main pipe are welded together. The connections between the branch pipe supports and the branch pipes or other pipes (such as short pipes, plug valves, etc.), as well as instruments and valves, can be made using various methods such as butt welding, socket welding, and threading. There are six types of branch pipe fittings: butt-welded branch pipe fittings, socketed branch pipe fittings, threaded branch pipe fittings, short-pipe branch pipe fittings, obliquely connected branch pipe fittings, and elbow branch pipe fittings. The openings for on-site instruments are generally DN25-DN40; pipe fittings can be used for these purposes. For high-pressure applications or special operating conditions, reinforced welded pipe fittings are employed. No reinforcement is needed.
