I am now working at a coking plant that has just started operating, and I want to learn how to be a furnace operator. These days, coking has occurred; the temperature at the top of the furnace is high, and the furnace collapsed three times last night. In one instance, 28 additions of material were needed to restore it to normal operation. Could anyone with experience give some advice? Why does coking occur? Seeking online! !
Slagging is a problem with the coal; the fire on top of the furnace flares up due to a lack of coal. Otherwise, slow down the coke pushing process and reduce the amount of gas supplied
