Working principle and structure of rainwater valves
The rain shower valve features a lever-type structure, offering advantages such as low locking force and a flexible and reliable operating mechanism. Under normal conditions, the disc of the rainwater valve remains in a closed position, continuously blocking the water in the system. When a fire breaks out, the outlet of the control chamber is connected to atmospheric pressure. Due to the pressure-reducing device at the inlet of the control chamber, the pressure inside it drops sharply. When the pressure in the control chamber falls to a certain level below the water supply pressure, the upward force acting on the bottom of the valve cover becomes greater than the downward force exerted by the lever on the valve disc; as a result, the valve disc of the deluge valve opens under the influence of the water supply pressure, allowing water to flow into the system to extinguish the fire. The pressure gauge in the control chamber is controlled by the fire detection system installed in the protected area, which is also the system that drives the valve disc of the deluge valve. This control system can be electrical, hydraulic (wet type), or pneumatic (dry type). It is equipped with an anti-reset mechanism and an external reset mechanism: after the deluge valve is opened, due to the residual pressure in the control chamber, the pressing clip always lands on the seat first, preventing the valve disc from covering the seat and thus enabling reset. As a result, this valve provides reliable fire suppression, and reset can be achieved without removing the valve cover – simply using a wrench to rotate the reset shaft in order to move the pressing clip, which makes it very convenient to use.
