As the title suggests, what are the characteristics of double-end face mechanical seals?
Double-end face mechanical seals are further divided into balanced and unbalanced types. Most double-end face mechanical seals are filled with a sealing fluid. Compared to single-face mechanical seals, its greatest advantage is the additional sealing surface, which reduces leakage and allows for more even distribution of forces on the sealing surface. The downside is that it has a relatively complex structure and is large in size. Double-end sealing is not merely a repetition of single-end sealing; in certain critical applications in the chemical industry, it serves to prevent the leakage of hazardous, toxic, flammable, and explosive substances, thus providing a safety mechanism. For high-pressure media, the pressure difference across each seal can be distributed reasonably, thereby expanding the operating pressure range of the seal. For some media that are not well-lubricated, tend to condense, or are volatile, cooling through the sealing area, along with the use of lubricating oil and low-temperature antifreeze, can improve the operating conditions of the seals and extend their service life
