Hydrogen-assisted dewaxing is a catalytic dewaxing process carried out under hydrogen atmosphere, also known as selective cracking. Hydrogenation-induced dewaxing of diesel refers to the selective cracking of high-freezing-point components such as n-alkanes and n-alkane-like compounds in waxy heavy diesel under hydrogenation conditions into smaller molecules, thereby reducing the freezing point of the diesel. 1. MDDW technology: MDDW technology is a fixed-bed hydrogenation catalytic reaction process developed by Mobil as early as the 1970s. To date, Mobil has successfully developed the third-generation catalyst MDDW-3, but there have been no reports of this process being used in industry. 2. Unicracking/DW technology: Unicracking/DW technology is a fixed-bed hydrodesulfurization technology developed by UOP in the 1980s. HC-80 is a catalyst developed by the company in the 1980s for hydrodesulfurization, but it is prone to poisoning by organic sulfur and nitrogen; therefore, the feedstock must first undergo hydrogenation treatment. Using this process can reduce the diesel pour point by 30–50°C. 3. CFI process: The CFI process is a hydrodewaxing process developed through collaboration between AKZO and FINA companies. This process uses atmospheric gas oil as raw material, first undergoing hydrorefining and then hydrodewaxing.
