The main product of the liquefied gas deep processing project is propylene; simultaneously, gasoline, propane, butane, and other products are generated as by-products. It is an emerging project in the field of fine chemical products. Since the light hydrocarbons such as mixed C4 (butenes) present in liquefied gas have a low added value, propylene is a high-value basic chemical raw material that is in short supply both domestically and internationally. Therefore, producing propylene through the cracking of mixed C4 offers good economic benefits and promising prospects for development. At present, there are only 3 production units for this project in our country, which utilize advanced PROPYLUR, OCP, SUPERFLEX, and MOI process technologies. These technologies result in high product yields and low levels of hazard, giving the country a definite advantage in terms of both technology and scale.

What is the cost, and is it competitive?
There are many such technologies, and many sets of them are already in use in China. As far as I know, Shanghai Aojia has the best performance ; Beijing BCC, Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute OCC. There may be other technologies as well.
Note that only olefins (C3 and C4) exhibit high conversion rates; for alkanes, the conversion rate is lower. Therefore, when selecting a process, it is essential to determine the composition of the feedstock, and then consider the product distribution and conversion rates – do not let yourself be misled~~~

The total investment for this project is planned to be 1.6 billion yuan, with an annual processing capacity of 500,000 tons of mixed C4 feedstock; it is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2012. Mixed C4 hydrocarbons are major by-products of the petrochemical industry and the coal-to-olefins industry; at present, the vast majority of them are mixed into liquefied petroleum gas as a domestic fuel, resulting in low utilization value. The propylene production technology from mixed C4 hydrocarbons, independently developed by Shaanxi Coal Chemical Technology Engineering Center Co., Ltd., enables the conversion of C4 olefins while also allowing for partial conversion of C4 alkanes.
This is the deep processing project for liquefied gas carried out by Henan Heyang Petrochemical Co., Ltd.; it includes: a new propylene production facility capable of processing 450,000 tons of liquefied gas per year, one liquefied gas cracking unit with a capacity of 150,000 tons per year, and another liquefied gas cracking unit with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year; The raw material is liquefied gas from Luoyang Petrochemical ; Adopt domestic fixed-bed process technology ; It produces 150,000 tons of propylene, as well as by-products such as propane/butane and light hydrocarbons, among other chemical products.
