Are gear flow meters highly inaccurate? How should the range of the DCS be set? Should it be based on process requirements or those specified on the nameplate? ?
The gears are okay; they can generally be used for measurement purposes. The range should be set according to process requirements, as long as it remains within the limits permitted by the instrument.

Gears should have quite high precision and are suitable for viscous media. They should be designed according to the process requirements; I think as long as it stays within the limits specified on the nameplate, that’s fine.
It depends on the output signal of the gear flow meter: if it is 4-20mA, then the DCS needs to be set to a range of 0~20 m3/h as required; if it is a pulse signal, then the DCS only needs to have the pulse coefficient set. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us!

Pulse signals require coefficients, and if standard signals are not set according to the flow meter’s design requirements, can the displayed results correspond to the flow meter’s output? Think it over!
