I encountered some problems during the design process; I’m not sure which motors’ fans require separate power supply. Could someone please let me know? It seems that the fan of the mixing motor doesn’t require its own power supply; what about other pumps such as centrifugal pumps and screw pumps?

I agree with the view from the second floor; ordinary small AC motors, as well as some large-capacity AC motors, come equipped with fans. Variable-frequency motors, DC motors, and some high-voltage, high-capacity motors require dedicated cooling fans
Reply to 3# czywqa: We are currently using a 1.5kw screw pump, which requires an inverter. I would like to know whether the fan of the motor for this screw pump is connected to the motor shaft or powered separately?
Reply to 4# rywind: It can be seen after purchasing the motor that it requires a separate power supply with a wiring box. The motors you mentioned generally don’t require a separate fan.
This requires communication and confirmation with the equipment suppliers as well as colleagues who work on the process equipment. Generally, I provide an independent cooling motor power supply circuit for any circuit that includes variable frequency technology; if there is no such need, then no such circuit is required. If it is necessary, wires are connected accordingly. In the chemical industry, as well as in other industries, one needs to take the initiative – turning a passive approach into an active one – which makes the work easier and more pleasant. If it’s not mentioned, it will be assumed to be the high-end version. If you don’t prepare in advance, once the equipment arrives on site, you’ll still have to deal with the issue of nowhere to connect the wires, and your supervisor might think there’s a problem with your work. By reserving such connections in advance, this problem can be avoided.
Generally, no separate fan is required, or at least the power supply does not need to be connected separately.
