Dear teachers: The 10,000L hydrogenation reactor is set to undergo a trial run soon; please share any suggestions on what needs to be taken into consideration. The more detailed the information is regarding preparations before driving, the equipment to be worn by the operators, evacuation procedures, and so on, the better. Thank you all. Reaction conditions: temperature 80–100°C, pressure 0.8 MPa, reaction in the aqueous phase.
Preparations before driving: 1. Check that the equipment is in good condition for water transport, is airtight, and that nitrogen or another protective gas has been properly used for purging. 2. Operators, analysts, etc. have completed qualified training. 3. The start-up plan, operating procedures, emergency response plans, and safety regulations are in place and have been studied*. 4. Production materials have been obtained: lubricants, reaction aids, etc. The clothing worn must meet the requirements for jobs involving toxic and hazardous substances: personal protective equipment such as safety helmets, protective glasses, gas masks, treatment chemicals appropriate for the type of substance involved such as boric acid and soda water, spraying facilities, eye wash stations, etc. Safe evacuation: Develop detailed emergency plans covering safety, environmental protection, fire fighting, etc., and study them thoroughly.
