Previously, the boundaries for low-pressure, medium-pressure, and high-pressure pipelines were defined as follows: pressures below 1.6 MPa were considered low-pressure, 1.6–10 MPa as medium-pressure, 10–100 MPa as high-pressure, and pressures above 100 MPa as ultra-high-pressure. Nowadays, the definitions are as follows: low-pressure pipelines have a nominal pressure not exceeding 2.5 MPa; medium-pressure pipelines have a nominal pressure of 4–6.4 MPa; high-pressure pipelines have a nominal pressure of 10–100 MPa; and ultra-high-pressure pipelines have a nominal pressure exceeding 100 MPa. Which of these definitions is more correct, according to you?
The original one is probably correct; the later ones are not continuous.
For low, medium, and high levels, not only pressure should be considered, but also the properties of the medium in the pipeline.
In the quotas for industrial pipeline construction, the pressure grades of pipelines are classified as follows: low pressure: 0<P≤1.6MPa; medium pressure: 1.6<P≤10MPa; high pressure: 10MPa<P≤42MPa; steam pipelines: P≥9MPa; high pressure is also applied when the operating temperature is ≥500°C.

So, based on 3MPa, is this considered medium pressure or low pressure? Is there a gap?
