Should the pressure of the primary dry gas seal at the outlet of the high-pressure cylinder of the cycle gas compressor be slightly higher than the outlet pressure of the high-pressure cylinder?
Compressors generally come equipped with balance pipes, so the pressure at the sealing points at both ends of the compressor should be roughly the same, close to the pressure at the compressor inlet. For the primary seal in a dry gas seal system, the seal gas pressure just needs to be slightly higher than the inlet pressure
In fact, the pressure of the primary seal should be 2-3 kilograms higher than the pressure in the balance line; however, the pressure in the balance line is roughly equal to the pressure at the compressor inlet. Therefore, it is sufficient for the primary seal pressure to be 2-3 kilograms higher than the inlet pressure. Of course, the backup air supply for the primary seal must be at a pressure higher than that at the compressor outlet
