Pause in your steps. Since heaven has given me eyes, I should observe the world around me more closely and do my best to help those who are unfortunate. We often hear people say, “On the journey of life, don’t forget to pause for a moment and admire the roses blooming by the road.” ”But modern people are so busy, spinning like tops; how many of them have ever slowed down to notice the beautiful things around them? Our minds are filled with a crowded schedule of tasks; we are troubled by work all day long, and the terrible traffic conditions make us frustrated. In such circumstances, we almost forget that there are other people around us. Worst of all, I belong to that category of people who are mediocre and have lost sensitivity to life, especially when driving on crowded streets. However, some time ago I witnessed something on the street that instantly made me realize there is such a vast world beyond my isolated one. That day I drove to a meeting, and along the way I kept thinking about what I would say. When I drove to a busy intersection, the red light suddenly turned on. I thought, “It’s okay; I’ll just drive faster later, and I won’t encounter any red lights again.” ” Just as I was impatiently pushing the engine to full power, ready to dash off as soon as the light turned green, a scene by the road suddenly caught my attention. A blind young couple, holding hands, prepared to cross this busy intersection filled with vehicles. The man was also holding a little boy by the hand, while the young woman carried a baby on her chest; they used white canes to help them move forward step by step, advancing carefully. I was deeply moved when I first saw this scene. Of all disabilities, I always think that blindness is the most unfortunate; it is truly a great tragedy, and I can’t help but feel grateful that I’m not blind. At that moment, I saw the family leave the sidewalk and move toward the center of the intersection; oncoming vehicles could strike them at any moment, yet they were completely unaware of the danger they were in. I sat in the car, sweating nervously for them – what if one of the drivers failed to avoid a collision? As this scene unfolded right before my eyes (I had the best view of everything), I witnessed something incredible: every car coming from all directions stopped simultaneously. No one honked their horn in frustration, nor did anyone shout angrily, “Get out of the way! Don’t block the path!” ”At this moment, it seems as though everything has come to a halt for this family. I opened my eyes wide and turned to look at the vehicles beside me; I saw that the drivers inside were also staring at this family with wide eyes. Suddenly, the driver on my right stuck his head out of the car and shouted at them, “Go right, go right!” ”The others, infected by him, also started to shout, “To the right, to the right!” ” The family began to adjust their direction step by step; with the help of crutches and guidance from others, they finally reached the other side of the intersection safely. At that moment, they were still holding hands tightly, and that brought me an inexplicable flutter of emotion.
People are not lacking a desire to do good; it’s just that not everything manages to touch the most tender part of their hearts. Moreover, society is also striving to make people’s hearts stronger and more resilient
True friendship is revealed in times of adversity! It’s very touching
