How is corrosion prevention achieved inside methanol storage tanks? I hope friends from Wanghaichuan can offer some advice.

I have just completed a custom-made unit, also a methanol tank, made of Q235B material; it has a diameter of 11.7 meters and a height of 16.5 meters, with the inner walls not having any anti-corrosion treatment. .
Over time, the inner wall of methanol storage tanks does suffer some corrosion, but it’s not severe. We have encountered this problem before; however, internal anti-corrosion measures are generally not taken; I think if it needs to be done, sandblasting for rust removal would be sufficient. Also, if cost is not a concern, stainless steel is recommended for the internal floating disk (aluminum is generally used instead)
Internal anti-corrosion is necessary, not due to any problems with the equipment itself. If no anti-corrosion measure is taken, iron ions will mix into methanol, affecting its quality. It is not conducive to downstream production; there are many specialized manufacturers producing such internal anti-corrosion products, and they are highly skilled in this field. The final outcome depends not on the method, but on the quality of construction.
