Advantages and disadvantages of disk-type continuous dryers? I think the main advantages are: easy control and strong versatility. By adjusting the thickness of the material layer, the speed of the main shaft, the number of rakes, as well as the shape and size of the rake blades, it is possible to optimize the drying process. Each drying tray can be heated or cooled independently using a hot medium or a cold medium, allowing for accurate and easy control of the material’s temperature. The residence time of the material can be adjusted precisely. The material flow is unidirectional, with no back-mixing; drying is uniform, the quality remains stable, and no further mixing is required.

Disc dryers are not suitable for all types of materials – they are generally used only for powders or particles with low viscosity
