I was working on a small caustic soda project recently, and the discussion turned to the issue of equipment lifting. It was said that these days people don’t use girder-type structures for such tasks; instead, 1000-ton cranes are used to lift the frameworks. I don’t understand what framework lifting means For the taller towers I used to construct, I would lift them section by section. What does lifting the framework refer to? Does it mean lifting the entire framework (the steel structure) after the equipment is in place? Concrete structures definitely can’t be lifted using a frame method, right? I’d like to ask the experts here for their advice
Frame lifting involves fixing the equipment inside the frame; during lifting, it is sufficient to lift the frame itself. This type of lifting frame is commonly used on mobile storage devices, such as oil tanks and ash storage tanks
Reply to 2# lhl626: Are steel structural frames still used for things like oil storage tanks? Isn’t it sufficient to simply build a platform? For structures like towers that aren’t too tall, are frame-based lifting methods commonly used in manufacturing facilities these days? From an economic perspective, is the cost of lifting frames more affordable than that of lifting equipment? In other words, is the cost of lifting frames currently high?
Under normal circumstances, frame lifting is more costly than lug lifting; it is used more frequently with mobile storage devices and less so with fixed devices.
