Upon inspection, it was found that the conductivity of the pure water exceeded the limit by 7 us/cm. I need help understanding the hazards of high conductivity and the reasons for bubbles appearing on the cathode hcbbs !! .
What type of slots do you have? Could you provide a detailed description of the bubble formation?
What bubbles do you mean? There should be a large amount of gas at the cathode outlet. Are you sure it’s due to pure water? Isn’t the conductivity value for pure water 10 us/cm?
We use Asahi Kasei’s ion exchange membrane; the current density is 5.5. At the cathode outlet, bubbles emerge one after another, just like gas escaping
I don’t think it has much to do with pure water; the requirement for pure water is 5 us/cm, so it’s advisable to look for other reasons
Is this the case for all the cell cathode outlets, or just some of them? If the possibility of membrane rupture is a concern, analyze the pH value of the anolyte in the corresponding cell.
All cathode outlets are like this. We have two workshops, and the electrolyzers in both workshops are of this type; for pure water, they use one tank
Is there anything abnormal with the hydrogen purity? The purity of the pure water is 7 us/cm, which is just over the specified limit by a small amount; there shouldn’t be such a significant reaction. Perhaps other factors need to be considered
Check the changes in pressure and liquid level.
The owner’s situation has absolutely nothing to do with the conductivity of pure water; the temperature of the tank is too high, probably above 90 degrees, or the saltwater contains a large amount of organic substances
It has little to do with pure water. I work with pure water. Bubbling is due to other reasons
