Under normal circumstances, the major overhauls for centrifuges include the following: Major Overhaul: (1) Includes all the items covered by the intermediate overhauls； (2) Repair or replace the spindle, push rod or scraper shaft, screw shaft ； (3) Overhaul or replace the drum, pusher, or screw ； (4) Inspect or replace the casing and base ； (5) Magnetic or ultrasonic testing shall be conducted on the main shaft and push rod ； (6) Replace the feeding hopper ； (7) Inspect and repair the bearing holes in the machine base, and adjust the level of the base ； (8) Inspection, appraisal, and repair of foundations ； (9) Tighten the foot bolts ； (10) Corrosion protection of equipment and pipelines ； During the maintenance process, in addition to carrying out the routine inspections as mentioned above, any other issues or defects identified during the maintenance should also be addressed promptly, in order to ensure the quality of the maintenance and the long-term proper operation of the machine after maintenance.
It depends on the type of compressor; for centrifugal compressors, there are certain items that need to be inspected and maintained； Rotor dynamic balance testing, inspection and replacement of axial and radial bearings, checking for shaft play and rotor movement, inspection of inter-stage gas seals, oil seals, carbon ring seals, honeycomb seals, and floating ring seals as well as their replacement, adjustment of the vertical and horizontal alignment of the machine frame, alignment of couplings, inspection of inlet control valves, and maintenance of the oil system. Reciprocating compressors have many items that require maintenance ； This includes piston rings, thrust plates, gaskets, air valves, connecting rod bearings, main shaft bearings, adjustment of the clearance between the cylinder piston and the cylinder wall, ensuring the horizontal alignment of the engine frame, tightening of foundation bolts, checking for horizontal wear on the cylinders, verifying the levelness of the guides, checking the clearance in the crosshead slides, ensuring the coaxiality between the cylinder and the guide gaskets, assessing the crankshaft deviation, and aligning the coupling pairs. When necessary, the oil system and heat exchangers also need to be inspected and maintained.
