How should the stiffness of an expansion joint be selected? It is a vertical fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger; what value should be chosen for the stiffness of this expansion joint?
Since the operating parameters are not high, a standard expansion joint is usually sufficient to meet the requirements. The expansion joint standards specify stiffness values for various specifications, which are selected for calculation. When installing expansion joints in vertical heat exchangers, care should be taken to place them below the brackets.
