The intake pipe of the fume extractor is connected to a pipeline equipped with a valve that allows communication with the atmosphere. Is this valve open under normal conditions? The valve at that location is a one-way valve; it is normally closed and is installed solely to prevent the fuel tank from overpressuring when the fan stops operating
When the fume extractor is operating normally, this valve is closed. When the fume exhaust fan fails, this valve should be opened promptly to allow the fumes to be discharged directly, preventing poor oil return in the air compressor.
We keep this valve open; in my opinion, the fume extractor is used to maintain a certain negative pressure in the oil tank – it’s not the case that the lower the pressure, the better. There is also a baffle at the oil tank outlet for control, so this valve must remain open

In fact, it’s a bypass pipe; when the fume extractor is in operation, adjusting the opening degree of this valve allows for control of the air volume entering the extractor, thereby meeting the requirement for a slight negative pressure in the fuel tank.
