Recently, Liaoning Datang International Fuxin Coal-to-Natural Gas Company was approved by Liaoning Province to establish a corporate postdoctoral research center; it is the first company in China’s coal-to-gas industry to receive this designation. The Fuxin Coal-to-Natural Gas Project is planned to involve an investment of 24.57 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. It is a project that requires significant technical expertise, skilled personnel, and substantial capital, bringing together top talents from nearly 40 enterprises in the fields of petrochemicals and power generation across the country. Currently, there are 95 professional and technical personnel in total, including 21 with senior titles and 30 with intermediate titles; among them, 2 are postdoctoral researchers and 5 hold master’s degrees. In order to achieve integration of production, research, and application within the company, it recruited talents with high qualifications to ensure intellectual support from top-tier professionals. Taking advantage of the strategic plans for coal chemical industry during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the company submitted an application to Liaoning Province at the end of 2010 to establish a postdoctoral research facility. Following expert evaluation, five departments including the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security jointly approved the establishment of an enterprise-level postdoctoral research base at this company, making it the first enterprise in China’s coal-to-gas industry to obtain such status. Once approved to establish a postdoctoral research facility, the company will make full use of the advantages offered by this facility. By using it as an innovation platform and focusing on research and development, it will enhance its ability to master advanced technologies both domestically and internationally, as well as improve its capacity to adopt and integrate new technologies. This will enable the creation of a large-scale R&D team specialized in coal-to-gas technology, integrating production, research, and application activities. By effectively combining scientific research with industrial production, the company will carry out proper planning for postdoctoral research projects and transform research outcomes into practical applications, thereby boosting the company’s independent innovation capabilities, production standards, and competitiveness in future market competitions. This will facilitate the sustainable development of coal-to-gas projects and lay a solid foundation for the growth of this industry.
Fuxin has an overall stronger strength than Keqi! Mainly, Keqi is not very attractive as a place to attract talent. On top of that, the salaries are inexplicably much lower. It’s unclear what the leaders are thinking; it’s already hard enough to stay calm in this desolate area, yet things only make things worse – it’s sad! This is the difference between Liaoning Datang International and Inner Mongolia Datang International.
