Would it be good for chemical industry professionals to obtain a securities qualification certificate or an accountant qualification certificate?

I work in the chemical industry now, and I have quite a lot of free time outside of work. I’d like to obtain certifications such as those for working in the securities sector or a national accountant certificate; this would help me understand more about the virtual economy and a company’s financial operations, so that I can make investments more wisely. But these certificates have nothing to do with my current job. I was wondering if any of you who are in the maritime industry have experience in this area. When they’re in their forties or fifties in the chemical industry, and have had enough of that work, they can take up jobs in securities or finance, something like that: lol
