Packing seal and mechanical seal

There was an incident: one of the plunger pumps in our factory had a packing seal, and it would leak frequently. Even after trying several times, it still didn’t work properly; I was wondering if it’s possible to switch to a mechanical seal.
Cannot be replaced with a mechanical [sealed one]. Mechanical seals can only be used in parts that rotate relative to each other, while your piston pump operates with reciprocating motion.
The packing in reciprocating pumps often leaks; we have encountered the same problem, and there is no better solution available. I haven’t considered using a mechanical seal instead.

It should be impossible to exchange, for the same reasons mentioned on the second floor
Packing seals inherently allow for some leakage, and mechanical seals also leak to some extent; it’s impossible for them to be completely leak-free. Filler seals may differ in price compared to mechanical seals.
Is there such a mechanical seal?...I’ve never seen it...###:o
Is the seal leaking due to incompatibility between the medium and the packing? It is recommended to apply some sealant to see if that helps
