Can a packed tower be used for the distillation process in an ammonia absorption refrigeration system? What filler is suitable?

The previous set of experimental equipment used a plate tower; this set is required to be a packed tower. Is it appropriate to use packing in the ammonia distillation process? Which filler is more suitable?
Our actual engineering projects use packed towers.
Reply to 2# wiseboy: First of all, thank you for your reply! ! I am currently working with very small units, whose designed cooling capacity is less than 1 horsepower. Are there any issues when using packed distillation in such small units? The unit also has compactness requirements. When using packing with a large specific surface area and regular shape, there is a concern that the backflow rate may be insufficient to wet the surface of the packing. So, is there any suitable packing that can meet these conditions while remaining compact?

With regularly arranged packing, the minimum spraying density can reach 2 m3/m2·h; generally, a properly designed packing tower can always meet the wetting requirements. I would have given you a more detailed answer, but I’m worried it might be seen as suspicious.
