I would like to ask if helium testing is necessary for fixed plate heat exchangers, under what circumstances is it required to be carried out, and are there any relevant regulations? Thank you!
Helium leak detection is primarily based on the property requirements between the two heat transfer media or the requirements of the process flow. Then there are the owner’s requirements. GB does not have explicit requirements.
Heat exchanger manufacturers are confused: the factory inspection passes based on the airtightness test, but when helium testing is conducted at the owner’s site, leaks are detected in the cold section. . . How to coordinate? The sensitivity of airtightness testing and helium testing is different; there is a difference on the order of magnitude. . . The manufacturing plant is facing a lot of **troubles.
