In accordance with the standard development plan and the work schedule of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Boilers and Pressure Vessels, the standard working group for JB/T 4710 \"Steel Tower Vessels\" held a meeting from April 19 to 20, 2011, in Guilin to discuss the draft version of the standard. The meeting discussed major issues such as the terminology used in the revised draft standard, the calculation of seismic loads, wind loads, requirements for key structures, and the scope of application of this standard, and reached a consensus. The meeting revised the plan for updates, and a draft for feedback will be prepared after this meeting. Comments are to be sought from May 15 to June 14, 2011. Ultimately, a draft version of this standard will be prepared by October 2011 and submitted to the **Energy Administration.
