I’ve just started working on a project, and it seems there’s so much I need to learn. It is particularly important to keep track of the progress; if it slows down, it is necessary to identify what is causing the delay in order to prevent the project timeline from stretching out too much.
A project control department is established at the project site, which is common in large-scale EPC projects. There are generally two models: 1. The project control department, which handles tasks such as planning, contracts, costs, and bidding management; 2. Project Control Department, including planning, material control, and keeping track of on-site information as per the drawings, etc. For EPC projects, having an accurate understanding of the design drawings as well as the arrival information of equipment and materials is crucial for controlling progress on site. As part of plan management/control, it is necessary to analyze any deviations from the schedule in a timely manner and take corrective actions promptly to ensure the integrity of the schedule plan. Planning and management efforts require the support of senior project managers in order to be effectively carried out. The project manager, design manager, procurement manager, and construction manager must all work together with a shared goal.
