The main bearings of a turbine are divided into radial bearings and thrust bearings according to the direction of the forces they bear. The function of the radial bearing is to keep the turbine rotor concentric with the cylinder. The function of the thrust bearing is to maintain the correct axial clearance between the nozzle, the stator blades, and the rotor blades. Since the operating conditions of turbine bearings involve high speeds and heavy loads, and require extremely high reliability, rolling bearings are not capable of meeting these conditions. (Our factory’s turbines use sliding bearings)
