What should be done if a compressor experiences surge?
Reason: The air volume entering the compressor is less than the surge flow rate. Solution: Open the anti-surge valve. Reason: The outlet check valve is stuck. Solution: Shut down the machine. Reason: The compressor is covered in scale or the inlet filter is clogged. Solution: Shut down the machine for cleaning and replace the filter. Reason: The anti-surge system needs to be inspected regularly; if surge occurs severely and there is no time to take action, the machine must be shut down immediately

It should be emphasized that if the operating speed of the unit is too low, it may lead to prone surging; therefore, operation in such a range should be avoided as much as possible. In other words, if the speed is too low while the load is high, considering increasing the speed could be an option – appropriate measures need to be taken based on the specific situation

When the amount of gas decreases, the load drops, and the speed should increase, but the impact is minimal. During the unit’s speed-up process, if a significant increase in vibration is detected, the speed should be reduced promptly. If vibration cannot be controlled, press the emergency stop button.
