Constructing flues

We’re building a flue here. The bottom of the longer flue is flat, while the bottom of the shorter one is sloped. Why is that? I really don’t understand it. Can someone explain it to me?
Flue ducts are divided into main flue ducts and branch flue ducts; those you mentioned, the long ones and the short ones, should all belong to the branch flue ducts. The short flue duct has a slope, probably to ensure a proper connection with the main flue duct!
The shorter one has a low area in the middle with a slope; it’s probably there to facilitate connection

Last time I made a mistake; it’s not just for the sake of connection, I guess. We are actual workers, there are few of us, and we act as supervisors – so who should we ask?
