In my opinion, the most suitable approach for producing gas from coal on an economic level is to build small- to medium-scale coal gasification plants at the locations where natural gas is consumed, through catalytic gasification using coal. Attempts in this area are already being made, and I hope to exchange ideas with those who are interested.

I only know that initially, Huayin Power’s coal-to-natural gas project was supposed to use the Bluegas technology, but later it was announced that this approach was not economically viable, so the project was canceled. I have attended technical exchanges related to Bluegas, and it seems that this technology is still in the pilot stage – it is far from being mature.
