Many of the replies on the website are of the type “Thank you,” “I’ve learned something,” or “Agreed.” Such replies are meaningless, and especially on popular posts, they can cause inconvenience for those who read and engage in discussions. If these replies are deleted, the numbering of other people’s replies remains unchanged, resulting in a disjointed flow in the discussion. Therefore, we ask all moderators to help remove such new replies (old replies should generally be kept), and to inform the post authors. We must not discourage users’ enthusiasm; it should be made clear that one can express gratitude by giving points.
Support the moderator’s proposal. A forum is a technical forum, and it should reflect the characteristics of such forums; elements that are unrelated to the forum’s theme should be minimized in order to keep the forum clean and provide a good environment for members who are truly interested in participating and exchanging ideas within the forum.
