The reason for introducing air into the chlorate decomposition tank – the flow rate seems to be quite high; it’s through a 40mm pipe, and the air is introduced above the liquid level in the tank. I’m not sure why Experts, please analyze # + +.
The reason for introducing process air, as I analyze it, is to control the rate at which chlorine vaporizes from the solution, thereby ensuring thorough reaction between chlorates and hydrochloric acid

This is our new factory, which is currently in the design phase; those from older factories with experience, please share more insights
The function of compressed air in the chlorate decomposition tank is to dilute the chlorine dioxide produced as a result of the reaction; chlorine dioxide is a very potent substance. You can look up relevant information. Additionally, the gas produced by the decomposition of chlorates is used to remove excess chlorine
Did you misread it? Usually, a chlorate decomposition tank has only one chlorine pipeline, and the chlorine produced goes to the main chlorine pipeline. If so, I personally think it is the chlorine in the decomposition tank that is replaced during parking for maintenance.
Reply to 4# flay0303: It seems so; chlorine dioxide has strong oxidizing properties, and its volume concentration in the air exceeding 10% can make it explosive. Thank you
I see that there is usually traffic shown on the design drawings
There will be no flow of gas. All 4 sets of our ion exchange membrane units are equipped with chlorate decomposition tanks; the chlorine gas produced in these tanks is sent to the main chlorine gas pipeline. Only when there is a problem with the chlorate decomposition tanks is it necessary to switch to using the dechlorination tower for evacuation (by opening the vacuum valve)

The chlorine gas produced in the chlorate decomposition tank here is usually sent to the main chlorine gas pipeline; it is only directed to the waste gas treatment system during startup and shutdown. There is no need to use compressed air for dilution during production; it is sufficient to ensure that the reaction temperature is above 85 degrees.
